If you’ve played in chess clubs or tournaments anywhere in Canada or the USA, you’ll instantly recognize this iconic blue, white and red tournament standard clock. An easy setup and a big display make this clock very user friendly. It covers all popular timing systems (5-0, 10-0, 3+2, etc.) and has 30 pre-programmed timing options including manual settings. With 10 built-in algorithms that give a complete range of timing choices (including multi-period, US delay, Fischer bonus time), this clock is a must-have for any chess enthusiast whether you’re playing Blitz, Rapid or Classical games. It can also be used to time any two-person board games like go, shogi, checkers, and Scrabble. Two AA batteries are included.

Please note that this NEW 2024 edition offers the following improvements to the clock:

⭐ 30 preset options versus 23.

⭐ A larger display that shows hours, minutes and seconds from the first move.

⭐ An option for forced period transition. If active, the period transitions based on the times the lever has been pressed.

⭐ An arbiter quick time penalty – One minute of penalty time may be added quickly if required.

⭐ Option Confirmation Function – Use the left arrow button during or after selection to double-check the game settings. The freeze is off by default, but it can be turned on.

Shipping Policy

We are proud to offer reliable shipping for all orders within Canada. Please note that we do not offer international shipping at this time. 

Shipping Methods and Carriers

All orders are shipped through Canada Post, Purolator or UPS, depending on your location. We strive to ensure that your order is delivered in a timely and efficient manner.

Shipping Time

  • Standard delivery typically takes 2-7 business days depending on your location. Most places in BC will receive their order within 2-3 business days, whereas orders from Ontario will be received in approximately 7 business days. Territories and remote locations may take up to 13 business days.
  • Delivery times may also vary depending on factors such as your address and the time of year.

Expedited Shipping

If you need your order sooner, we offer expedited shipping as an option during checkout. Expedited shipping is a faster delivery service with additional charges being determined by the carrier.

Order Processing

  • All orders are processed and shipped within 1-2 business days (excluding weekends and holidays).
  • You will receive a tracking number once your order has been shipped, allowing you to monitor its progress.

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location and the weight of your order. You can calculate the exact shipping cost during the checkout process before making your purchase. Please note that Canada is BIG and therefore, shipping is unfortunately costly. However, we use Shopify's discounted shipping rates to get you the best prices possible. If you think there's an error with the calculated shipping or there is a better price on shipping, please feel free to reach out to us! Orders above $300 will be shipped free of charge!

Local Pick-Up

If you live locally, you may choose to pick up your order in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver, BC. During checkout, under Delivery options, select "Pickup in store." As an online company we do not have a storefront, therefore, after your order has been successfully placed, we will email you to SCHEDULE A PICKUP APPOINTMENT at a mutually suitable time for you to collect your order. Depending on the size of your order and availability, we may be able to fulfill your order and allow you to pick it up by the following day or perhaps even on the same day.

Returns & Refunds

Standard Return Policy

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days from the time your order is shipped to submit a return request or notify us that you wish to return an item. Once your return request is approved, you have 14 calendar days from the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) notification date to ensure the item is returned and received by us. An RMA number is mandatory for all returns. Any package without the RMA number clearly displayed on the exterior will be refused. Please ensure the number is displayed clearly and is easy to see.

To start a return, you can contact us at info@canadianchess.ca. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a RMA Number as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

If you decide to return an item, the following terms and conditions apply:

  1. Shipping Costs: Shipping fees, including those for the original delivery, are non-refundable. If your original order qualified for a free shipping promotion, the cost incurred by us to ship the order to you will be deducted from any refund.

  2. Return Shipping: You are responsible for all shipping expenses related to returning the item.

  3. Packaging and Shipping Requirements: Items must be securely packed and sent using an insured, trackable shipping method with a signature required upon delivery. We recommend using UPS or Fedex. We are not liable for damage or loss during transit, which is why insurance is mandatory.

  4. Condition of Returned Items: Returned items must include all original packaging, accessories, components, and documentation. It must be in the same condition that it was received in. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

  5. Promotional Purchases: If the item was part of a promotional offer, all items included in the promotion, including any free or bonus gifts, must be returned to qualify for a refund.

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Damaged Item Policy

At The Great Canadian Chess Company, we use premium packaging materials and follow rigorous packing procedures to ensure your items arrive safely. We understand how disappointing it can be to receive a damaged product, and we are committed to making things right. In the rare event that your item arrives damaged, our customer service team will resolve the issue promptly and at no cost to you. Here's how we handle such situations:

  1. Notify us within 7 calendar days from the delivery date if your product arrives damaged and provide us with the details regarding the damage, including photos or video documentation.
  2. Keep all packaging materials including the box and packing materials, as they may be needed for the return process.

If your claim is made within the 7-day window, we will provide a refund or replace the defective item(s) at no cost to you. Claims made after this period will not be honored. We appreciate your understanding and are here to ensure you enjoy a seamless chess shopping experience with us.

Exceptions / Non-returnable Items

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on clearance, shopworn items or gift cards. 

Order Cancellation

If you need to cancel an order, please contact us AS SOON AS POSSIBLE by sending an email to info@canadianchess.ca. Once your order has shipped, it cannot be canceled or modified. We recommend calling us during business hours to ensure your cancellation request is handled promptly.

If your order has already been shipped, please following the instructions above regarding making a standard return.
